Local Sightseeing of Lucknow, renowned for its Dignity and Tehzeeb is also known as the city of Nawabs. Awadh and Lucknow region were ruled by Mughal Empire, Sharqi Sultanate, Delhi Sultanate and Nawabs of Awadh since 1350. It is a capital of Uttar Pradesh, located at the banks of the river Gomti. Awadh was part of the Sharqi Sultanate of Jaunpur for from 1394 to 1478 about eighty four years. The third Nawab of Awadh Shuja-ud-Daula had made Lucknow as their capital, hence during his period music and dance flourished, and construction of numerous monuments took place, hence Lucknow city became cultural capita of North India. The glorious history of the city of Nawabs reflects on its amazing monuments.
 
Bara Imambara is one of the most popular place of attraction of the city. It was made by Asaf-ud-Daula, the Nawab of Awadh in 1784, which is also known as Asafi Imambara. It has the large Asfi mosque, the bhulbhulayah (the labyrinth), and bowli, a step well with running water. Two imposing gateways lead to the main hall. Its great hall is 163 feet high with the lagest vaulted ceiling in Asia, is considered an architectural marvel since it has no supporting pillars. Jama Masjid was an important mosque of Lucknow. Sultan Ahmed Shah was built this mosque in 1423. This Mosque was constructed by yellow sandstone also has unique style of architecture and design.
 
The Chattar Manzil is the one of the spectacular structures was constructed by the Nawabs of Lucknow which is one of the most unique architecture he palaces were named after the chattris (umbrella-shaped domes) on the octagonal pavilions, which crown the buildings.It has large rooms which is underground and also a dome surmounted by a gilt umbrella. Another charm of the city is Hussainabad Imambara, which also known as Chota Imambara, which was constructed in 1838 by third Nawab of Awadh, Muhammad Ali Shah as a mausoleum his mother and later was served as his own and buried beside her.It is a gen of building, which is beautifully decorated with white and black calligraphic pattern. The chandeliers which was used for interior of this building was brought from Belgium.It has two tombs of one tomb is Muhammad Ali Shah's daughter who is placed alongside her husband. It is seen as the replicas of Taj Mahal.
 
Moti Mahal is the one of the most splendid monuments of the Lucknow. The Moti Mahal was constructed by Saadat Ali Khan. This is also called The Palace of Pearl which was used for Bird watching site by the Nawab. Bara Imambara and Hussainabad Imambara. It was built by Nawab Nasir-ud-Din Haider, who was the second king of Awadh, in the year 1880. The Clock Tower is the tallest Clock Tower as it has staggering height of 221 feet and in India. The tower also has the biggest fitted clock that cost around INR 1.75 lakhs in 1880.
