Ganga Mahotsav is celebrated in the city of Varanasi which is located at Uttar Pradesh, India. This city is a holy place and best for pilgrimage tourism. People know this place as Benaras or Kashi. Ganga Mahotsav is celebrated near the bank of holy river Ganga. During this festival people from other state and countries come here to dip and take bath in the holy river Ganga to get rid of all sins. After the aarti is completed, diyas and lamps are lit in the ghat of the holy river Ganga.  The local people also organize cultural programmes for the visitors and tourist to promote the cultural tourism in India. The local people of Varanasi and other state participate in this festival. Main attraction are the aartis, traditional dance and music, dramas and others. At the evening time great musician or Ustads like Girija Devi, Bal Murli Krishnan, Bhimsen Joshi and others are invited to give a life to this festival.
