Ahmedabad is a beautiful city of Gujarat that is also known as “Manchester of the East”. It is one of the largest and most developing cities in the state of Gujarat. This city is located on the banks of the River Sabarmati. The city Ahmedabad got its name after Ahmed Shah I who is the founder of the city who ruled Gujarat from 1411 to 1442. It is also famous for its textile mills. It has emerged as an important industrial hub in India.   • Kankaria Lake, Ahmadabad: Kankaria Lake is the largest lake in Ahmedabad. In 15th century it was built by Sultan Qutbuddin. This lake was also known as Hauz e Qutub.  Main attractions of this lake are - Kankaria zoo, amusement park, Balvatika, toy train, water rides, food stalls, and other entertainment facilities.
  • Jama Masjid, Ahmedabad: Jama Masjid of Ahmedabad is the largest mosque in India. During the reign of Ahmed Shah I, this splendid mosque was built. It was established by Sultan Ahmed Shah who founder of the city Ahmedabad. The mosque was built with yellow sandstone. The mosque is a blend of Indo-Islamic architectural style.
  • Teen Darwaza, Ahmedabad: Teen Darwaza is an oldest and longest gateway of Ahmedabad established by Sultan Ahmed Shah, the founder of Ahmedabad. It is located adjacent to Bhadra Fort and is very near to Bhadrakali Mata Mandir. It was constructed during 141 A.D. The fascinating beauty of this Darwaza attracts maximum tourists. The windows of this fabulous monument are semi circular and decorated using web work.
  • Sabarmati Ashram, Ahmedabad: Sabarmati Ashram is one of the best tourist visiting places in Ahmedabad. Before this Ashram was known as 'Satyagraha Ashram". In the year 1915, this Ashram was established in the Kochrab area of Ahmedabad by Mahatma Gandhi after he returned from South Africa. But later on it was shifted on the banks of the river Sabarmati. The name Sabarmati Ashram was given after the name of the River Sabarmati. Tourist can also visit the Mahatma Gandhi’s Museum and many others.
  • Sidi Saiyyed Mosque, Ahmedabad: Sidi Saiyyed Mosque was built in the year 1573. It is famous for beautifully carved ten stone latticework windows (jalis) depicting a tree with intertwining branches. It is also known as ‘Tree of Life Jali’. You can view the panorama of the mosque from the front.
  • Akshardham Temple, Ahmedabad: Akshardham Temple is the famous temple of Ahmedabad. It is a Hindu temple and one of the largest temples of Gujarat. This temple is a masterpiece built in 1968. There is the beautiful gold idol of Swami Narayan.  Excellent water show with pretty good story telling. Security is very strong.
  • Hathee Singh Jain Temples, Ahmedabad: Hathee Singh Jain Temples is a must visit tourist place. It is a unique example of Indian architecture. It is an ancient and archeological wonder of India.  It is a beautiful historical landmark in Ahmedabad. It was built by Nagar Sheth of Ahmedabad more than 150 years ago. It is one of the best tourist visiting places in Ahmedabad.
  • Calico Museum Of Textiles, Ahmedabad: Calico Museum of Textiles is the famous and superb museum in the city of Ahmedabad. After entering the museum, you can smell the old traditions of the people of bygone eras.  Here you will get to see variety of textiles and many remarkable collections of fabrics from many parts of India. It is a peculiar place-for those who are interested in history of textiles.
  • Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Memorial: This was built in the memorial of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel who was known as “Indian Iron Man”. Inside you can find some collection of his photographs and various things he used. It is most well-preserved and maintained.
