Ambala is one of the most popular cantonment town in Haryana. It is known as "Twin City" as Ambala has two sub-areas one is Ambala Cantonment, and another is Ambala City. It is also known as an industrial town as well which produce scientific instruments, like microscopes and instruments used in laboratories. It is believed that the city was founded during the 14th century AD by Amba Rajput. The Cantonment of the town was established in 1843 after the British were forced to leave its Karnal Cantonment.

Bhavani Amba Temple, Ambala: It is one of the popular attractions. It is also believed that the city has driven its name from the presiding deity of the temple. The ancient temple is considered a major pilgrimage center in the city.

Badshahi Bagh Gurudwara, Ambala: It is situated behind the District Court of Ambala. The structure was built to commemorate the visit of Guru Gobind ji, the 10th guru. The guru pays a visit to the city during one of his excursions to Lakhnaur.
