Amaravati is the new capital for Andhra Pradesh, which is known as the riverfront city, situated on the southern banks of the Krishna River in Guntur district.It was an important historical region which wasserved as the capital of the Satavahana kingdom in ancient days. Apart from this, it is also one of the holiest place for Hindus as well asSri Amaralingeswara Swamy temple is located at the Amararama Pancharama Kshetra site.in this town is named after the historic site of Amaravati, known as the center of Buddhist culture that flourished during 400 BC to 1100 AD.

  • Amaravati Stupa, Amaravati: - It was initially built during the times of Emperor Ashoka who was a great follower of Lord Buddha and had embraced Buddhism during his later years, and also known as Mahachaitya one of the major attractions of Amaravati.
  • River Krishna Bank, Amaravati: -The town of Amaravathi has been built on the banks of River Krishna and thus, the river holds plenty of importance for the people of the town. The value of the river has in no way decreased with the passage of time. It still remains the most valuable asset of the town of Amaravati and attracts visitors all seasons of the year.
  • Archaeological Museum, Amaravati: -It is located on the right side of the River Krishna, and is important for the history of Indian Art, since the museum showcases the immense wealth of Amaravathi in the form of historical pieces of art and crafts.
