The city Baripara is a major tourist destinations of Mayurbhanja District located on the bank of River Burhabalang.  Baripara is also known as ‘Dwitiya Srikhetra’ or ‘The Second Puri’. This city is blessed with plethora of natural wonders situated in the lap of nature. The most important characteristic is the stripped forested land. It is culturally beautiful city and attracts a lot of tourist from all over India. Baripada is simply different from other region of Odisha due to its different topography. Renowned for many cultural and historical forts, palaces. The Rath Yatra festival that is celebrated in Baripada considered to be the biggest and oldest festival after Puri. It is a perfect tourist destination seeking for some relaxing tour with their loved ones. Simpilal Wildlife Park is one of the most world’s famous Wildlife that is in Baripada. In the ancient time, this region was a hunting place of the Mayurbhanj Maharajas.  In 1957, it was declared as a sanctuary. It is the home to Tiger, Asian Elephant and Gaur, which are the three of India's biggest animal species. There are other significant tourist places such as the Rasikaraya temple and the Durbar hall of the Bhanja kings that is visited by most of the tourist.

  • Maa Ambika Mandir, Baripada: Maa Ambika Mandir is a popular worshipping place which is strongly associated with the Rath Yatra festival of Hindu religion reflecting the devotion, spirituality, religious practices and temple art of India.  It is on the top of the hill where one can also witness the beauty of the surrounding landscape.
  • Jwalamukhi Temple, Baripada: The Jwalamukhi Temple is one of the main pilgrimage place which is regarded as one of the 51 Shakti peeths of Goddess Shakti. This temple is dedicated to ‘Goddess of Light’, or Goddess Jwalamukhi. It is said that this temple also has a dome of gold that was gifted by the Mughal Emperor Akbar. Navratri is also the ideal time for devotees to pay a visit.
  • Haripur, Odisha: Haripur is another tourist attraction that is located around 16km from Baripada. The Rasikaraya Temple is the main attraction of Haripur which is an outstanding example of a brick-built monument that was built in the fortified ruins of the Bhanja palace that is unmatchable.
