Bhadrachalam is known as the Ayodhya of South India situated atop the Bhadragiri Hill. The name Bhadrachalam has been derived from Bhadra Muni, who is the brother of Neela Muni. This sacred place is also known as Bhadragiri or Bhadradri. It is said that he achieved the blessings of Lord Rama and became Bhadradri (Bhadrachalam). It is the house of Sri Vaikuntha Rama, the four handed Deity form of Sri Ramachandra situated on the bank of the sacred river Godavari. It is one of the most visited Hindu pilgrimage centres in South India. The Sri Sita Ramachandraswamy temple the seventh incarnation of the God Vishnu located on the shores of the Godavari River in the town of Bhadrachalam. Another important temple is the Abhaya Anjaneya temple. This place can be referred as “An excerpt of the Ramayana”. It is also known as the abode of Lord Rama. It is one of the most important locations as described in the epic Ramayana. There are many carved various beautiful and ancient temples that enthralled many visitors.  For tourism, it is a refreshing place with glorious palaces and surroundings where one can also witness the majestic wind of the river Godavari that is very holy. It is a sacred place that attracts lakhs of devotees from all over the world.

  • The Sree Sita Ramachandra Swami Temple, Bhadrachalam: This is one of the ancient and famous temple in the country situated on the left bank of the Godavari river. This temple is dedicated to Maha Vishnu in the form of Lord Rama. It is said to have been closely associated with the Ramayana. It attracts thousands of devotees from all over the world, every day. Best time to visit this place is from the month of October to February. 
  • Abhaya Anjaneya Temple, Bhadrachalam: This temple is another most popular tourist attraction in Bhadrachalam. There are several magnificent sculptures of gods and goddesses that adorn the borders of the temple complex. All the sculptures are made up of cement that gives a wooden sculptures impression. This temple is dedicated to Lord Hanuman. It is worth visiting both as a destination of spiritual pursuit and for its marvellous aesthetics.
