Bhavnagar is a city that falls under the Saurashtra region of the state Gujarat. It is located at the Southern tip of Peninsula Gujarat. It is the fifth largest city that was founded by Bhavsinhji Gohil in the year 1723. The city got the name after Bhavsinhji Gohil. Formerly it was a princely state known as Gohilwad; "Land of the Gohils" ruled over by the Maharaja of Bhavnagar. It is a significant place of importance and famous in trade business. As far in tourism is concerned, the city is very lively and attracts a lot of tourist from all over India. Many renowned thinkers, educationists, writers, artists etc. are mostly from Bhavnagar.
