Chamba is a popular hill station in the state of Uttarakhand. Chamba has a great historical significance. Raja Shahil Varman established Chamba as capital of his kingdom in 920AD. He named this place as Champavati, who was his daughter. Later the name was corrupted to Chamba. It possesses an unparallel scenic beauty. It is also known as “The Land of Hill Kingdoms, Temples and Monasteries”.  It is a perfect holiday destination surrounded by snowcapped mountains and lush greenery forest. There are also ancient monuments, lakes and spring that depict the culture of this region. There are also temples built before 1846 which are the main attractions of tourist visiting this region.  It is a land with untouched beauty. It is also known as the land of lord Shiva. There are numerous lakes, temples, wildlife to explore. It will give you an exhilarating experience.

  • Gabbar Singh Memorial, Chamba: Gabbar Singh Memorial is a popular tourist destination in Chamba. This memorial was built in 1925 in honour of Thakur Gabbar Singh. This place attracts a lot of tourist and pays their homage to the soldier. 
  • Tehri Lake, Chamba: Tehri was a small town which is now submerged under water. This is best place for adventure tourism. One can enjoy the beauty of the lake.
  • Surkanda Devi Temple, Chamba: It is a Hindu temple lies close to nearby hill stations of Dhanaulti.  This place is associated with the legend of Sati. It is situated at an elevation of 3,030 m above sea level. It offers a splendid view. It attracts many tourists from all over India.
  • Shri Bageshwar Mahadev Temple: It is one of the most popular temples in Chamba. The temple holds immense importance amongst the locals. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Shivaratri festival is an important festival where thousands of devotees come here to visit.
