Dalhousie is a hill station located in Chamba district of Himanchal Pradesh. Located at an elevation of 1970 meters, Dalhousie was named after then British Governor General of India Lord Dalhousie in 1954. The hill station was used as a retreat for British officers who were commissioned in India. The hill station is located on the west side of Dhauladar Mountain Range which are part of Himalayas and is built on five hills knowns as Kathalagh, Potreyn, Terah, Bakrota and Bhangora. The hill station is filled with heritage properties with colonial architecture which were mostly built during Victorian era. While the hill station is relatively new people inhabited the area surrounding Dalhousie since 7th century AD. The peak season to visit this place is from May to September. There are many places in and around Dalhousie which interest tourists, some of them are Dainkund Peak, Khajjiar, Satdhara Falls, Tibetan Market, Kalatop and Kalatop Forest etc.
