Jaipur is a well-known and popular tourist destination places in India. This fascinating city takes you to the era of kings and conflicts. Jaipur is one of the largest cities in the state of Rajasthan and because of its trademark building color; this city got the name as ‘Pink City’. There is a reason behind this name. To welcome the Prince of Wales in 1876, the city was painted with terracotta pink color. Hence, the city got the name as The Pink City.  Jaipur, the royal city was founded by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II on 1727.  By following the principles of the science of Indian architecture, Jaipur was planned to be the first touted city of India by a Bengali architecture named Vidhyadhar Bhattacharya. This city which consists of magnificent forts, monuments, ancient temples, buildings, and stunning palaces is surely a treasure-trove for every traveler.  Jaipur, the capital city of Rajasthan has rich cultural heritage that is well preserved as famous Heritage Destination in India. This city is also famous for being the largest saline lake in India.   • Amer Fort, Jaipur: The Amer Fort is one of the most elegant and magnificent forts in the state of Rajasthan, situated atop a range of rocky hills. Raja Man Singh built the original Palace and the additional extension was built by Maharaja Mirja Raja Jai Singh and Sawai Jai Singh II, the last Maharaja of Amer. This fort is constructed of red sandstone and marble that attracts thousands of tourists all over India as well as from abroad. It is famous for best architectural designs.
  • Hawa Mahal, Jaipur: Hawa Mahal is also known as the ‘Palace of The Winds’ or ‘Palace of the Breeze’. It is one of the prominent tourist visiting places in Jaipur, Rajasthan. This five-storey palace was constructed in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh whose main intention was to facilitate the royal women and provide them a view of everyday life through the windows. There are total 953 small windows called jharokhas decorated with intricate latticework.
  • City Palace, Jaipur: City Palace is one of the major tourist attractions in Jaipur. This palace also includes - the Chandra Mahal and Mubarak Mahal palaces. Sawai Jai Singh II, the ruler of Amber built this Palace in between 1729 and 1732. The architecture of this palace is a fusion of Rajput, Mughal and European styles of architecture.
  • Jantar Mantar, Jaipur: Jantar Mantar is said to be one of the most important monument built in Jaipur. The term "Jantar Mantar" literally means "instruments for measuring the harmony of the heavens". Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II of Jaipur constructed this interesting monument. This observatory was built for the study of space and time in 1734.
  • Jal Mahal, Jaipur: Jal Mahal is another major tourist attraction in Jaipur, located in the middle of the Man Sagar Lake. The meaning of Jal Mahal is ‘Water Palace’. From here one can view the hills, dotted with temples and ancient forts in Jaipur. It is considered an architectural beauty built in the Rajput and Mughal styles of architecture that attracts thousands of tourists.
  • Jaigarh Fort, Jaipur: Jaigarh Fort is atop the Cheel ka Teela, that means Hills of Eagles.  This fort was built by Maharaja Jai Singh II in the 1700s.  It functioned as a cannon foundry. Tourist visiting this fort can witness the endless huge red walls of Jaigarh fort. Jaivana is the world’s largest cannon on wheels that is in Jaigarh Fort. From here one can also experience the spectacular sunset view.
  • Nahargarh Fort, Jaipur: Nahargarh fort is famous for its royal heritage that is situated on the edge of the Aravalli Hills. From the top of this fort one can get a spectacular view of the Pink City, Jaipur. Sudarshangarh was the original name of this fort. Later it was named as Nahargarh, which means ‘abode of tigers’. This fort was built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, in 1734, who founded the City Jaipur.
  • Laxmi Narayan Temple, Jaipur: Laxmi Narayan temple is also known as Birla Mandir. This temple is an example of great architectural landmark.  This temple is dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi (God of Wealth). This temple represents three main religions of India – Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism. It is a must visit places while in Jaipur.
