Khammam is a town in the state of Telangana located on the banks of a river called Munneru which is a tributary of the Krishna River. Formerly, it was known as Kambam. It was the seat of Taluk Administration and a part of the larger Warangal district. It has a great historic value because of different rulers and reigns in different times. The name of this town Khammam has been derived from the name of Narsimhadri Temple dedicated to Lord Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy. It was later renamed as “Stamba Sikhari”. This temple is believed to be1.6 million years old. This town has a lot of historical importance. It also has ample of tourist visiting places such as forts, wildlife sanctuary, pilgrimage places and water bodies. A number of famous personalities from the district have been part of the freedom movement down the ages. The place is the true example of unity in diversity because of its rich cultural heritage. Enriched with Hindu and Muslim architecture and history, attracts a lot of tourist that will mesmerize every traveler. It will also forget about the hustle of the city.   • Khammam Fort: Khammam Fort is one of the prime tourist attraction in the Khammam city. It has an important historic importance which is 1000-year-old. It is the heart of Khammam. This fort was built during Kakatiyas’ regime located on the Stambhadri hill. The architecture of this fort is an influence of both Hindu and Muslim. It is a major tourist attraction place in Khammam.  
  • Kinnerasani Wildlife, Khammam: It is an exotic wildlife sanctuary which houses a wide range of species. This Wildlife Sanctuary covers an area of 635.4 sq. km of land. This wildlife includes tigers, pythons, hyena, sambar, panthers, jackals and many more. It offers great view for nature lovers. It has a rich variety of flowers and trees. Tourist can witness various migrated birds coming from all over the world. Other major attractions are the Deer Park and Kinnerasani Dam.   • Lakaram Lake, Khammam: Lakaram Lake is a popular tourist attraction in Khammam. The lake is promoted as a tourist spot with a park adjacent to the lake called Lakaram Lake View. The lake has boating facilities. Cinemas are shown using a projector every Sunday in the park. The lake and the park offer you a relaxed atmosphere.
  • Nelakondapalli, Khammam: Nelakondapalli gains religious importance as it is associated with Mahabharata, one of the famous epics of Hinduism. Archaeological evidences bear traces of Mahabharata period. Excavations conducted in this place unearthed several idols, viharas and stupas belonging to Buddhism. The excavations also uncovered a stupa made of stone belonging to a period between the third and fourth centuries. The ancient temples found here highlight the cultural past and the architectural brilliance.
  • Sri Venkateshwara Swamy Temple, Khammam: Famously known as Telangana Tirupati, Sri Venkateshwara Swamy Temple is located in Jamalapuram, which is around 79 kms from Khammam. This ancient temple was visited by the famous Vijayanagar ruler Krishna Deva Raya, who renovated the temple. Considered to be more than 1000 years old, the temple is located in a scenic landscape, which offers spectacular views of green hills in the vicinity.
  • Perantalapalli, Khammam: is sure to give you the ultimate experience with its picturesque landscapes. Its beauty can be gauged by the fact that it is referred to as cloud-laced hill range. It is located between Kunavaram and Rajahmundry. This tribal village located on hilltop offers view of the confluence of Sabari and Godavari Rivers.
