Kishanganj is one of the beautiful town of Bihar, which is the district headquarters of Kishanganj district in Purnea division. This small town is in the lap of Himalaya with the surrounding border of Uttar Dinajpur district of West Bengal on the east, and Darjeeling district of West Bengal and Nepal on the north. Historically it belonged to Nepal until 1840, when Kishanganj became part of India as local ruler lost his battles with Mughals. As per mythology Kishanganj was associated with the great epic Mahabharat. The ancient name of this town was Nepalgarh. It is the only district in Bihar, which producing tea.
