Kohima is known for its immature beauty of the Naga hills borders with the neighboring country of Myanmar or Burma. It is situated in the foothills of Japfu range located in Kohima District of Nagaland state.  Kohima is also known as Asia’s second largest village. Kohima has been derived from a plant called ‘Kewhi’, which was given by the by the British as they could not pronounce the name Kewhima (in Angami language). Originally, Kohima is known as Kewhira (the land where the flower Kewhira grows). Angami Naga tribe are the main inhabitant in Kohima. Kohima is also known as ‘A Land ruled by the Nagas’. This picturesque town is the home of the many brave and daring regiments who died in World War II, well-known as Naga Regiment. Kohima is an exotic tribal culture of the northeast and offers a panoramic view of the neighboring hills. As Kohima is the capital of Nagaland provides many natural and scenic landscape that protect and conserve their natural habitat.   • Cathedral of Reconciliation, Kohima: It is one of the most important church in Kohima that is uniquely designed transparent roof that lead to “Natural Light System” in the church. The architecture represents the Naga culture which is modelled in traditional Naga style. This is also known to be the tallest wooden crucifix of Asia. It was constructed in 1986 and was completed in1991.
  • War Cemetery, Kohima: War Cemetery is one of the most popular historical landmark located in Kohima. This war Cemetery is dedicated to many brave soldiers who gave up their lives in World War II at Kohima during the year 1944. Earlier, this place was known as Garrison Hill. It is a matter of pride for the visitor who visit this place. Tourist from many countries like Japan, China and other came here to pay homage to their ancestors.
  • State Museum, Kohima: This is a state museum in Kohima that exhibits the vibrant culture of Nagaland through a collection of fascinating arts and artefacts. There is a ceremonial drum kept which is the major highlight of the museum that depicts the Naga tribal culture and tradition originated from the shores of Sumatra.
