Korba is one of the major city and an industrial area of Chhattisgarh. The city is located on the foothills of Maikal ranges of the Satpura Hills and Chota Nagpur Plateau. Two major rivers flows through the city that is Hasdeo and Ahiran. Hasdeo boasting two hydroelectric dams, hence the city is known as the as the Power Capital of Chhattisgarh.  It is the Industrial hub of the state which is popular for Kosa silk industry and black diamond. Along with that the city is also renowned for its coal mines such as Gevra Area, which is one of the largest coal mines of Asia.
