Located in north of Bihar, Madhibani is a town which shares border with Nepal. Historically Madhubani has been part of Mithila region. As per mythology, Pandavas stayed here during their 13 year exile stayed. Madhubani is also associated with traditions of Ramayana as it was part of Mithila region and its close vicinity to Janakpur, Nepal which is said to be home of Sita. Apart from that the region also significant to both Jains and Buddhists as many Buddhist and Jain literature contain innumerable references to the district of Madhubani and its neighbouring territories.
