Nagpur is proposed as the Smart City in the state of Maharashtra. It is the third largest city known to be the best evergreen city in India. Nagpur city is famous for Oranges and hence it is well known as the "Orange City" for being a major Trade Center of oranges. It is the place where the country's first textile mill started by Tata group at Nagpur in the year 1877 and is popularly known as “Empress Mill”.  The history of Nagpur city that is located in central India can be traced back 3,000 years to the 8th century BC. The city was founded by the Gonds King Bakht Buland Shah in 1703. Later it became a part of the Maratha Empire under the royal Bhonsale dynasty. Nagpur is also known for the largest world renowned hollow stupa named Deekshabhoomi where tourist can acknowledge the first mass religious conversions in the history of India. Famous personality like Dr. B. R. Ambedkar along with other 500,000 followers converted to Buddhism. There are numerous tourist visiting places like Dhamma Chakra Stupa, Japanese Rose Garden, Sri Balaji and Sri Kartikeya Temple, Dragon Palace Buddhist Temple, Nagpur, etc. Apart from this, Nagpur is also known as the ‘Tiger Capital of India’ that holds the third highest Tigers population place.

  • Poddareshwar Ram Temple, Nagpur: It is a big and well managed Hindu Religious Temple. This temple is dedicated to God Ram and Lord Shiva. This temple was constructed in the year 1923 by Late Shri Jamnadhar Poddar, related to the famous Poddar Family of Bisau (Rajasthan) in India. Any person who visits this temple, gets the peace of mind.
  • Deekshabhoomi, Nagpur: Deekshabhoomi is a sacred monument of Buddhism. Nagpur is also known for the largest world renowned hollow stupa named Deekshabhoomi where tourist can acknowledge the first mass religious conversions in the history of India.   • The Seminary Hill, Napur: The Seminary Hill is one of the most popular attraction in Nagpur.   • Sitabuldi Fort, Nagpur: Sitabuldi Fort is a historic structure, built by Mudhoji II Bhonsle, also known as Appa Saheb Bhosle, of the Kingdom of Nagpur. It is one of the major attractions for the tourists who visit Nagpur on vacation. This fort is considered to be one of the jewels of Nagpur. The fort is now managed by the Indian Army’s 118th Infantry Battalion.
  • Dragon Palace Buddhist Temple, Nagpur: This Dragon Palace Buddhist Temple in Nagpur is also known as the ‘Lotus Temple of Nagpur’. It is a great tourist spot for those who have keen eye for architecture. This temple was built by Mother Noriko Ogawa Society, Japan and inaugurated in 1999. There is an idol of Buddha in the temple surrounded by lush gardens and the serene atmosphere allures every visitor.
  • Futala Lake, Nagpur: Futala lake is well known for its charming atmosphere and coloured fountains making it a best place for hangouts. This lake is one of the most attractive tourist spot in the city. This lake was built by Raje Bhosle. Tourist visiting this lake can watch the spectacular view point of sunset over the mountain across the lake. It is believed that this lake was said to be exists for more than 200 years.
