Palampur is a hill station located in Kangra Valley of Himanchal Pradesh. Surrounded by tea gardens and pine forest Palampur is known for its beauty. The city is located in the beautiful backdrop of snow-capped Dhauladhar range. Palampur is located at a height of 1,470 meters above sea level and is known for mild climate. The region is well connected by roads to all major cities. It is connected to Palampur via a narrow-gauge rail. Palampur is known for its temples and Buddhist monasteries some of the famous ones are Shiva temple which was built during 12th century, Tashi Jong Buddhist Monastery and Brajeshwari Devi Temple, which is located at highest point at a height of 2,170 meters.

Brajeshwari Devi Temple: Brajeshwari Devi Temple is an important Hindu temple in the region. The temple is known for its wealthy status, it is one of the 51 Shakti peeths. It believed that it the same sites where body parts from Shiva's first wife, Sati, fell after the goddess was consumed by flames. It was destroyed completely in 1905 by an earthquake and it was rebuilt in 1920.
