Palampur is a hill station located in Kangra Valley of Himanchal Pradesh. Surrounded by tea gardens and pine forest Palampur is known for its beauty. The city is located in the beautiful backdrop of snow-capped Dhauladhar range. Palampur is located at a height of 1,470 meters above sea level and is known for mild climate. The region is well connected by roads to all major cities. It is connected to Palampur via a narrow-gauge rail. Palampur is known for its temples and Buddhist monasteries some of the famous ones are Shiva temple which was built during 12th century, Tashi Jong Buddhist Monastery and Brajeshwari Devi Temple, which is located at highest point at a height of 2,170 meters. 

Main Attractions
  • Tea Gardens: It is one of the major attraction of Palampur, as the town is also referred as 'Tea Capital of Northwest India' as the town is surrounded by lush tea gardens which are spread over a vast landscape of the. The tea plantation on the hill station was introduced by Dr. Jameson.
  • Nevgal Khad: Situated at about 2 km from the city Centre, Nevgal Khad is one of the most popular tourist destination of Palampur, which is also known Bundla Chasm. It offers the breath-taking view of the Dhauladhar Range and lush green surroundings. It is an ideal place for relaxation and picnic.
  • Tashi Jong Monastery: Tashi Jong Monastery is one of the major attraction of Palampur. It offers refuge to several Tibetans. The Monastery is widely visited by peace seekers and Buddhist pilgrims.  It houses a various Tibetan artefacts, paintings and articles at the craft emporium.
  • Brajeshwari Devi Temple: Brajeshwari Devi Temple is an important Hindu temple in the region. The temple is known for its wealthy status, it is one of the 51 Shakti peeths. It believed that it the same sites where body parts from Shiva's first wife, Sati, fell after the goddess was consumed by flames. It was destroyed completely in 1905 by an earthquake and it was rebuilt in 1920.
