Raigarh is one of the major city of Chhattisgarh and administrative headquarters of Raigarh district. It is a fast growing Induration town of this region which is renowned worldwide a fine quality silk called Kosa Silk. The district is well-known for its rich coal reserves and power plants. The Kelo River is source of water of this region which flows through the city. Before independence of India, the city was capital of Princely State of Raigarh. The city is widely known as the cultural capital of the state, which is known for its rich cultural heritage and traditions along with various indigenous tribes. There are various tourist places located in and around Raigarh such as Gomarda Wildlife Sanctuary, Raigarh Fort, Shree Shyam Mandir, Kamala Nehru Park, Balaji Temple, Singhanpur Caves, Gajmar Pahadi and Ram Jharna

Main Attractions
  • Shree Shyam Mandir, Raigarh: It is a popular place for Hindus. The temple is devoted to Lord Krishna and is in the heart of Raigarh city. Janmashtami festival is the main attraction of this temple and is celebrated with great zeal. Large number of devotees visits the temple to seek blessings of the Lord.
  • Gomarda Wildlife Sanctuary, Raigarh: It is one of the interesting and adventurous places of Raigarh which is situated near Sarangarh. The Sanctuary is widespread in an area of 275 square Kms. It provides shelter to a large number of wild animals such as blue Bull, Sambar, Panther, Sloth Bear, wild Dog, and Deer etc.
  • Kamala Nehru Park: Situated at Chakradhar Nagar area of Raigarh, ?Kamala Nehru Park is the one of the major attraction of the city. The park has wide range of children play-zones.
  • Haritima Garden: It is an eco-park and children play area, located at South Chakradhar Nagar on TV tower road. It is one of the favorite destination for nature lovers, especially for old age and kids for a nature walk and weekend destination.
  • Balaji Temple, Raigarh: It is one of the very famous temples in Raigarh district of Chhattisgarh. It was built by Shri Balbhadra Dasji and Shri Bhosleji in the year 1610. Lord Balaji is the main deity which is worshipped in the temple and is admired for Saligrams which are placed in close vicinity to the idol of Lord Balaji.
  • Raigarh Fort: It is the one of the oldest fort of Chhattisgarh. Raigarh Fort is situated on the bank of Kelo River near Urdana road. It is one of the major tourist attraction of Raigarh along with a lake and nearby temple.
