Ravangla is a small town surrounded by high-forested hills situated in south Sikkim. It is a perfect tourist destination to laze around, located at an altitude of 7000 ft. This beautiful place is also known as “A Paradise for Bird Watchers” because large number of tourist are attracted by the varieties of Himalayan birds like blue-fronted redstarts, dark-throated thrush, white-browned fantails, babblers and so on. It is also famous for Orchids and rhododendrons which bloom during the months of April and May. Tourist visiting this place can view some popular peaks like Mt Kanchenjunga, Mt Pandim, Mt Kabru, Mt Siniolchuetc, which are clearly visible from here. From exotic flora to haughty snow clad mountains, Ravangla is famous for all possible reasons on this earth. The statue of Lord Shakyamani Buddha is one of the most attractive tourist spot in Ravangla situated in the Buddha Park. There is a famous tea garden named Temi Tea Garden that holds a great significance in terms of tea-plantation and tourism of the state. Tourist can get an excellent opportunity to experience the moment of sunrise from Rayong Sunrise Viewpoint and can witness Mt Narsing, Mt Kabru, Jopuno, Rathong etc. Visitors and tourist are always welcome to experience the God’s own paradise. 

Main Attractions
  • Temi Tea Garden, Ravangla: Temi Tea Garden is the sole tea garden of Sikkim. This Tea Garden was established 1969 by the Government of Sikkim, considered one of the best in India and in the world. The IMO declares the estate as an “organic garden”. It holds a great significance in terms of tea plantation tourism of the state which also has a great demand in International market.
  • Buddha Park, Ravangla: Buddha Park is also known as Tathagata Tsal. It is situated near Rabong (Ravangla) in South Sikkim district. This park was actually built to promote the tourism in Sikkim by government. It has a 130-foot high statue of the Buddha which was constructed between 2006 and 2013. It has become a stop on the ‘Himalayan Buddhist Circuit’.
  • Tashiding Monastery, Ravangla: is situated at 39 km from the town of Ravangla. It was established in 1716 AD. The name has been translated to ‘Central Elevated Glory’. This monastery is also home to the sacred stupa of “Thongwa Rongdol” Chorten. Bumchu Festival is one of the most important festival that is held here every year. This festival belongs to the time of Guru Padmasambhava during 8th century.
  • Ralang Monastery, Ravangla: This monastery is the most sacred monastery of Sikkim. It holds a cultural and historical significance and houses more than 100 monks. Here, tourist can witness some stunning collection of paintings. Pang Lhabsol is one of the important festival that is held every year.
  • Kewzing Village, Ravangla: This village offers the chance of encountering the provincial life in Sikkim. It is a small Bhutia Village of Kewzing where tourist can observe deep green jungle and some endangered birds.
