Vikarabad is a popular town founded in 19th century. It is in Ranga Reddy District of Telangana.  It has a great history that dates to the Nizam era. This town was founded by the 5th Amir of Paigah. This place is blessed with natural beauty, hills, lakes and dense forests with abundant wildlife. Though it lost much of it beauty due to deforestation, once, Vikarabad was a hub for wildlife attracts a lot of tourist from all over India. The name of this town was given after the forth Amir of Paigah, Nawab Vikar -ul-Umra, who was the prime minister of Hyderabad. This place was a popular hunting sport in the forest where no outsider was allowed except Nizam and the Paigah family. Vikarabad is a charming tourist place covered with red soil, containing a mixture of rock and loose soil. Forest begins the journey filled with beautiful souls.   • Ananthagiri Hills, Vikarabad: Vikarabad is proud to have this Ananthagiri Hills as paradise. This is one of the big forest area in Rangareddy district. This hill is renowned for adventure tourism. It is a popular tourist destination best for trekkers lover.
  • Anantha Padmanabha Swamy Temple, Vikarabad: Anantha Padmanabha Swamy Temple is one of the most popular tourist destination in Vikarabad. This temple is dedicated to the form of Lord Vishnu which is believed to be his next incarnation. According to mythological belief, Lord Brahma was born out of the navel of Lord Vishnu. Devotees have to enter the cave between 5 am and 2 pm to have special darshan of the idol of Lord Vishnu.
  • Araku Tribal Museum, Vikarabad: Araku Tribal Museum offers information about the tribes that currently live here and their way of life. This museum was established by the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation. The museum itself is built with mud and various metals that give it an authentic tribal feel. Original tribal culture, traditional handicrafts, and fine arts of ancient tribes are preserved and displayed here.
  • Padmapuram Gardens, Vikarabad: Padmapuram Garden is another popular attraction in Vikarabad. It is a popular botanical garden situated in Araku valley. This garden was built in 1942. This place has played an important role in supplying vegetables to the soldiers who fought in World War II. After that, it is converted of into a Horticultural Nursery cum Training Center where orchards, rare species of flowers and trees, tree houses and stone sculptures greet the eye.
  • Katiki Waterfalls, Vikarabad: This waterfall is located between Borra Caves-Kasalaka railway stations. It is about 50 ft. high and lies around 4 km away from Borra Caves. One can take bath at the base of the waterfall and trek up to the base of the waterfall. Tourist can go for activities like camping, campfire and cooking. Best place for promoting eco-tourism.
  • The Borra Hills and Caves, Vikarabad: The Borra Hills and caves are another major tourist attraction for the people who are adventurous and nature lovers. It is also best place for photographers. It is in the Anantha Hilla of Araku Valley. William King George who belonged to Geological Survey of India discovered these caves in 1807. November and December is the best time to explore these caves.
