Sarahan is a small hamlet located in Kinnaur district of Himanchal Pradesh. The village is situated old Indo-Tibetan border road. Sarahan was once part of Bushahr kingdom and was their summer capital. The village is located at an elevation of about 2300 meters and is 170 kilometres from Shimla. The summers are pleasant, and winters are very cold due to its altitude. Apple Orchids are found in the region due to suitable temperature for its growth. The village is known for Bhimkali Temple is one of 51 Shakti Peethass dedicated to Goddess Durga. The pictography and artwork in the temple tells that the temple dates to the Kushan period which existed from 1st to 3rd centuries CE.
