Tirupati is one of the holiest pilgrim destination for Hindus, located in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh. It referred to as the "Spiritual Capital of Andhra Pradesh". The city is known for Venkateswara Temple, which is the landmark of this city, located in the hill town of Tirumala at Tirupati. Constructed over a period starting from 300 AD, it is one of the most amazing Dravidian architecture. The temple is also known as, Tirupati Temple, Tirumala Temple, Tirupati Balaji Temple. This holiest temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. It is one of the most visited shrine in India and one of the richest temple in the world in terms of wealth and the donations received. The city is known renowned for Tirupati Laddu, which is the prasadam at Venkateswara Temple.

Main Attractions
  • Sri Venkateswara Temple, Tirupati: - The temple is located on the south of Swami Pushkarini River. People who follow a particular faith feel at peace when they are here. It is considered most divine. It is the second most frequented shrine all over the world, the first being Vatican. It is also the richest temple in the world.
  • Talakona Waterfall, Tirupati: - The location of the waterfalls is 30km into the forest. From the base, a trekking for nearly two kilometers will take you to the waterfalls. The views here are spectacular. The right time to visit the place would be during rainy season. The water is awesomely clear and cold.
  • Deer Park, Tirupati: - One of the major tourist attractions in Tirupati. Named Deer Park, it has a wide range of animals. However, deer is the most commonly spotted animal here. The picturesque landscapes and the serene atmosphere enthrall you.
  • Sri Govindarajaswami Temple, Tirupati: - An ancient temple and a very important shrine in the land. Idols of Lord Parthasarathy and Lord Govindaraja are found here. The temple premises houses few other shrines as well. Sri Govindarajaswami is Lord Balaji’s elder brother. Hence, the functions and festivals conducted here strike similarity to the ones conducted at Lord Balaji’s temple.
  • Srikalahasti, Tirupati: - It is one of the most famous destinations sought by pilgrims. Shiva Linga is worshipped here as Vayu Linga. Vayu means air, Air is one of the five elements of the Universe, the others being water, earth, fire and space. An oil lamp in the sanctum constantly flickers while other lamps remain motionless.
  • Kanipakam, Tirupati: - A very famous pilgrimage, as it is believed that the idol of Lord Ganesha grows in size. The 11th century temple was built by Kullottunga, the famous Chola king. The temple was further developed during 14th century by the kings of Vijayanagar.
