Ludhiana is an interesting tourist destination place in the state of Punjab. Situated on the banks of the river Sutlej it is a quite popular for being the largest city in this Northern state of India. Ludhiana came in existence during 9th century. It is the site of a great battle in the First Sikh War that took place in the year 1845. Earlier, this city was called as Lodhiana named after the Lodhi Princes from Delhi who founded the place in 1480. Literally, it means the town of the Lodhi 's. Ludhiana is rightly known as the ‘manufacturing capital of Punjab’ as it got the status of Industrial hub and famous to produce sewing machines. Popularly the city is called as the ‘Manchester of India’. This rapidly growing metropolitan city of Punjab is also a hub of the religious shrines, monuments and tourist’s attractions. There are various popular places such as Guru Nanak Dev Bhawan, Guru Nanak Stadium Killa Raipurwhere one can visit in this wonderful city.

  • Lodhi Fort, Ludhiana: Ludhiana fort is an important historical place. It is no+02t as famous as other forts in India. It is over 500years oldmade by Muslim ruler Sikander Lodhi location on the banks of the Sutlej within the town.
  • Tiger Zoo, Ludhiana: Tiger Zoo is also known as Tiger Safari. It offers a thrilling experience of majestic tigers roaming about in the dense jungle. Apart from this it is indeed a popular picnic spot too. Beside tigers, there are also black bucks, sambhars, rabbits and lots of peacocks and other species.
  • Punjab Agricultural University Museum, Ludhiana: This Museum is located within the complex of Punjab Agricultural University situated on the suburbs of the city of Ludhiana. It is one among the important educational Ludhiana sightseeing points. It consists of local arts, crafts and numerous other assortments of antique objects. It is one of the most popular tourist attractions while visiting Ludhiana.
  • Gurudwara Shrimanji Sahib Alamgir: Gurudwara Shrimanji Sahib is located at is located in the Alamgir village of Ludhiana city. There is a holy water tank which is believed to be sacred and after taking a bath one can get rid of all sins. Every year there is a famous fair conducted at this Gurudwara.
  • War Museum, Ludhiana: This war is also known as Maharaja Ranjit Singh War Museum. It came into existence in the year 1999. It not only pays homage to the soldiers but also educates the citizens of India about the role of defence. There is a majestic statue of Maharaja Ranjit Singh sitting proudly on a throne that welcomes every visitor.
