Warangal is another important city in the state of Telangana. It was once the capital of the Kakatiya Kingdom of the Kakatiya dynasty. It was founded by the Prola Rajain the 12th century AD. Warangal was established in 1163. During the Kakatiya Dynasty, this city was known as Orugallu which is an ancient name of Warangal. Oru means one and Kallumeans stone. History from 1155 AD., this city occupies a special place in Andhra Pradesh History. It remained under Nizam’s rule till 1945 AD when it became part of Hyderabad zone. This is the second largest city in the state of Telangana after Hyderabad. Warangal has many historical important places like the Thousand Pillar Temple, the Fort and the Bhadrakali Temple etc. And due to this, the Government of India declared it as aheritage city in the state of Telangana. It is a fastest growing city best recognized for historian, an enthusiastic Geologist, an ambitious archaeologist. Tourist can also explore this city as best pilgrimage place because of some ancient temples available in and around the city. Tourism has played an important role that consists of beautiful lakes, fine temples, rich fauna & flora. There are some major attractions that attract many tourists from all over India.
