Rishikesh is a holy town lies in the foothills of the Himalayas of the Garhwal region in Uttarakhand. It is one of the major spiritual place for which it is also known as the “Place of Sagas”. The word Rishikesh implies the name of Lord Vishnu which has come from the word “hrsika” means senses and “isa” means Lord. Literally, it means Lord of the Sense. Surrounded by scenic beauty of nature, thousands of people are attracted every year for spiritual relief and peace. It is also believed that one can get attainment from the endless cycle of life and death or Moksha. Rishikesh is also known as the ‘Yoga Capital of the World’. With this Rishikesh has become extremely popular as the top spiritual destination in the world. For generating the faith of Indians in Ayurveda, Rishikesh is also famous for its Ayurveda treatments. Rishikesh has been a magnet for spiritual seekers. There are several mythological stories associated with this place. Tourist and devotees can rememorize the ancient history of Indian preaching. Rishikesh Tourism consists of numerous ancient temples, many religious Ashrams and other sightseeing. Main Attractions
  • Ram Jhula, Rishikesh: Ram Jhula is an iron suspension bridge build over the holy river Ganga. Its length is 450 feet length that connects Shivananda Ashram and Swargashram. Tourist can see the amazing city of Rishikesh with numbers of temples from this bridge. Previously it was a hanging jute ropeway bridge. Later, a new bridge was constructed by PWD with the help Shivananda Ashram in 1980. This attracts a lot of tourist from all over India as well as from abroad.  
  • Lakshman Jhula, Rishikesh: Lakshman Jula is another bridge that is also build over the river Ganga. It is also 450 feet length that connects Pauri district with Tehri district. Before it was a 284 feet jute rope which was washed away in the floods of October 1924. Later in 1930, it was rebuilt. Some of the major temple here are - Trayambashwar temple, Lakshman temple, Sri Raghunathji’s temple, and others.
  • Triveni Ghat, Rishikesh: Triveni Ghat is one of the most popular and biggest ghats in Rishikesh. This ghat is a confluence of three holy significant Rivers the Ganges, the Yamuna and the Saraswati. It is famous bathing ghat for most of the pilgrims. After taking dip in the river, they visit the temples. Morning aarti and evening aarti is the must sightseeing here.
  • Bharat Mandir, Rishikesh: Bharat Mandir is one of the oldest temple located near the Triveni Ghat in Rishikesh. The spring festival, which is also called as Basant Panchami is celebrated here. It is the most ancient, most sacred & most famous temple situated at the heart of the city. This temple is mentioned in Vishnu Puran, Shrimadbhagwat, Mahabharat, Vaman Puran & Narsingh Puran. It attracts a lot of devotees from all over India.
  • Rishikund, Rishikesh: Rishikund which is a holy pond located near the temple Raghunathji in Rishikesh. This ancient pond is believed to be built by Kubz saint who was blessed by River Ganga by filling the pond with the water of Holy Ganga. There is an interesting fact about this pond that is the reflection of the temple Raghunathji can be seen here.
  • Neelkanth Mahadev Temple, Rishikesh: Neelkanth Mahadev Temple is one of the oldest temple in Rishikesh stands at a height of 926m on top of a hill across the river Ganga. It is located at 32km. The name of this temple has been derived from Lord Shiva. It is a Hindu temple and dedicated to Lord Shiva. According to mythology, this is the place where Lord Shiva consumed the poison that originated from the sea when Devas (Gods) and Asuras (Demons) churned the ocean to obtain Amrita.
