Rudraprayag is a small holy place located in the state of Uttarakhand. It lies at the confluence of Alakananda and Mandakini River. This place is blessed with nature bounty. Rudraprayag was formed as a separate district in the year 1997, curved out of Kedarnath valley. According to mythology, it is the place where Lord Shiva appeared in Rudra avatar to bless Narad Muni (a famous Hindu mythological character). Rudraprayag was named after Rudra, an aspect of Lord Shiva.  It is worth exploring because of the beautiful natural beauty that envelops the vicinity of Rudraprayag. This city is recognized as one of the five sacred confluences or the ‘Panch Prayag’. It is well-known for pilgrimage tour which has an immense significance for the pilgrims of Char Dham Yatra. It is the junction for visiting Badrinath and Kedarnath Dham. It is a great pilgrimage site and one of the best place to visit. There are various pilgrimages sites within the district. The Jagdamaba Temple and the Shiva Temple are the main attraction while visiting Rudraprayag and attracts thousands of tourists from all over India.

  • Augustmuni, Rudraprayag: It is a small town situated on the banks of Mandakini River. It is dedicated to Rishi Augustya, one of the most revered teachers in Indian mythology. It is a place full of magic and spirituality. It is also an important place from where helicopter tours of the Char Dham are undertaken for Char Dham yatra.
  • Koteshwar Mahadev Temple, Rudraprayag: Koteshwar Mahadev Temple is one of the famous religious place in Rudraprayag. Temple residing here is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Apart from this, one can also see many other ancient idols.
  • Dhari Devi Temple, Rudraprayag: Dhari Devi Temple is another popular tourist attraction in Rudraprayag. It is a Hindu Temple which is dedicated to Devi Kali Mata. It is located on the banks of the Alaknanda River in the Garhwal Region. It is 20km from Rudraprayag. Many devotees visit the temple throughout the year.
  • Vasuki Tal, Rudraprayag: Vasuki Tal is a popular and amazing lake in Rudraprayag situated at a height of 4135 m above the sea level. Tourist can see the panoramic view of the Chaukhamba peak. It is a high glacier lake and a best destination for trekker and adventure lovers.
