Bareilly is an important tourist city in the state of Uttar Pradesh located along the Ramganga in the region of Rohilkhand. It acted as a major part of its history. Basdeo, a Katehriya Rajput founded the city in 1537 where in 1657 Mukrand Rai founded the modern city of Bareilly. It is also known as ‘Baans Bareilly’ which mean bamboo. It is named due to its big bamboo market. This region was once the part of ancient Panchala. It is very rich from archaeological point of view. Bareilly comes under100 Smart City list in India. Draupadi who was one of the important character of the epic Mahabharata took birth in this region. It is a center for furniture production, woodwork and sugar production.   •  Alakhnath Temple, Bareilly: The Alakhnath Temple is one of the four Shiva temples in Bareilly. The uniqueness of this temple is that it is in four corners of the city of Bareilly. Many devotees come here to make offerings and prayers. Tourist can find singing some ritual songs which are most devotional.
  • Trivati Nath Temple, Bareilly: Bareilly is a city of numerous temple. Trivati Nath Temple is one of the famous temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. It was originally constructed around the year 1474. This place gradually became the centre of worship.
  • Jagannath Temple, Bareilly: Jagannath Temple is one of the most important temple in Bareilly which is over 200 years old. According to Hindu mythology, the name has been derived from Jagannath, who is said to be “Lord of the Universe”. It is believed that he is one of the traditional avatars of Vishnu.

  • Chunne Miyan's Lakshmi Narayan Temple, Bareilly: It is an important temple dedicated to Hindu’s originating from Pakistan that settled in Bareilly in 1947. This temple was built on the land that belonged to Fazal-ul-Rahman who was popularly known as ‘Chunne Miyan’ and hence the temple is known as Chunne Miyan's Mandir.
  • Doopeshwarnath Temple, Bareilly: Doopeshwarnath Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Doopeshwarnath. This place is said to be the birth place of both Draupadi and Dhrishtadyumna. The temple is one of the most ancient temples in Bareilly which is also considered as ‘Raksha Kawach’ that protects the city against the evil forces.
