Mount Abu is the mighty hill station in the desert state of Rajasthan that lies in the Aravalli mountain range.  It is considered as an oasis in the dusty landscape located near the Sirohi District of Mount Abu as it is home to some rivers, lakes, waterfalls, etc. According to myths, this hill is also known as ‘Arbudaranya’, got its name from a serpent god, Arbuda. It is said to be original abode of the famous Gurjars. There are number of legends behind this hilly terrain of Mount Abu.It is the highest peak in the Aravalli Range of Rajasthan state where one can experience pleasant weather throughout the year. It is the best retreat destination for the people down the plains. One can witness the mesmerizing scenic sunrise and sunset from the top of the peak that attracts a lot of tourist from all over India. Apart from the majestic ambiance of this place, it also offers some popular and famous magnificent temples and ancient building dating back 11th -13th centuries. It is one of the most famous Jain pilgrimage tour because of the Dilwara Temple in Mount Abu constructed between 11th and 13th century AD. They are considered masterpieces of temple architecture and sacred for Jainism. Tourist visiting this place can enjoy both natural beauty and spiritual charm which is an essence of Rajasthan tourism.

  • Dilwara Jain Temples, Mount Abu: Dilwara Jain Temples are the most prominent tourist destination that is located at a distance of 3km from Mount Abu. These temples were built between 11th and the 13th century. The brilliant marble architecture attracts most of the tourist that makes it a must visiting spot in the state of Rajasthan. There are total five temples inside the temple complex.
  • Nakki Lake, Mount Abu: It is an artificial lake which is one of the most popular attractions in Mount Abu. The fountains in the lake add to its natural beauty. It is an ancient and sacred lake for Hindus. There are many mythological stories behind the creation of this Nakki Lake.
  • Trevor’s Tank, Rajasthan: Trevor’s Tank is a crocodile breeding man-made crocodile park. It is also called as Trevor’s crocodile park. It is located at a distance of 5km away from Mount Abu. It is a peaceful place that gives you a fresh and relaxing feel. It is also a great place for picnic.
