Panjim is capital of the state of Goa. The city derives its name from words panjani and khali, which mean a boat and a small creek respectively, in Sanskrit. Pajim like Goa was once under Portuguese rule and became part of India in 1961. Panjim is known for its colonial heritage buildings, organized city and clean roads. The city is also known for carnival celebrations in February include a colourful parade on the streets. Panaji is Goa's largest urban agglomeration, ahead of Margao and Vasco da Gama.

  • Goa State Museum: The Goa State Museum was inaugurated in 1977. It is the One of the most popular attraction of Panaji. Here, you can find a great collection of history and cultural thing. There are twelve galleries of the Goa State Museum houses and artefacts.
  • The Church of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception: This is the one of the greatest tourism destination of Panaji. And it is also the oldest church of Goa. The 17th Century church is located in the centre of Panaji.
  • The Secretariat Building: The Secretariat Building is the eminent landmark of the Panaji city. The historic building is today one of the popular Panaji attractions.
  • Shanta Durga Temple: This is a famous temple and structured in the form of Pagoda style. This temple covers around 33 km area and is located in the midst of lush green surroundings.
  • Basilica of Bom Jesus: This is also called Basilica of Bom Jesu located in the Panaji. This is just away 10 km from Panaji. This is a church and it is the one of the most prominent monumental Landmark in the History of Christian religion.
  • Idalcao: It is also known as the Adilshahi Palace. And this place is collection of Built buildings.
  • St. Sebastian Church: This was established in early forties. This is a popular tourist attraction in Panaji.
  • Panjim Church: It is one of the oldest Church of this region which is about 400yes old. Believed to be the second-largest in size in Goa.
