Located in the census town of North Goa, Candolim is one of the most famous beaches of Goa, that attracts tourist from not only India but worldwide. Candolim was once a small village during Portuguese rule and was an important focal point for Portuguese rule. It is one of the largest beaches in the state and is stretched over 4.5 km from Aguada Fort to Calangute. Whilst it attracts many tourists it is a laid back beach when compared to bustling Calangute beach. Through the stretch of the beach along the Candolim-Calangute Road, there is a huge market which stretches for about 4.5 km featuring restaurants and shops.
