Vagator beach is in Northern part of Goa in Bardez Taluka. The beach is located on the opposite banks of Chapora River and once was boundary between Portuguese Goa and India. It is about 22 km from capital of Goa Panjim. It is known for its dynamic cliffs and is laid back when compared to neighbouring Anjuna beach. Vagtor beach is divided into two parts Big Vagator and Little Vagator beach. Vagator is most famous for Sunburn festival which was shifted from Candolim back in 2013. Vagator is a very popular destination among bag packers. Vagator also offers a great sunset viewing spot and attracts a lot of tourists which exclusively come for watching sunset on the beach. 

Main Attractions
  • Vagator Beach: This is a small beach in North Goa. This is a flat beach and perfect for swimming. It is not very crowded compared to other beaches. It is known for its red-cliffs and two fresh water springs. Various stalls are available here that sell clothes, soft drinks, snacks and trinkets.
  • Chapora Fort: Chapora Fort was a red Laterite fort built by the Portuguese in the 1th century. But now, we can see only ruins and the heads of the two tunnel.
  • Thalassa: This is a Greek restaurant with an outdoor seating arrangement. Restaurant serves authentic, delicious Greek food.
  • Chapora Beach: Mostly known for the historical Chapora fort, this is a very famous beach which is 10 km from Mapusa. The other basis for the vogue of this beach is the fact that this is well easy-going from other popular beaches such as Anjuna and Candolim too.
  • Ozran Beach: Ozran Beach also known as little Vagator, a small but very delightful beach. This beach has no. of beach sacks. Seeing the sunset on this beach is a great moment. Here you can explore some secluded spots and the two water springs.
  • Shiv Murti: It is another most popular tourist attractions of this region, the rock face of Lord Shiva, is situated near the Vagator Beach. It is a huge structure which was carved out from the rock during the Portuguese rule in Goa.

  • By Road- In Goa, buses are managed by Kadamba Transport corporation and also by other private operators at regular intervals, connecting all places in Goa.
  • By Train- Nearest Railway station is Thivim, which is located at the distance of 19 km away from the Vagator. Other nearest railway stations are Margao (57 km) and Vasco da Gaama. All these railway stations are well connected with all the major cities in India.
  • By Air- Dabolim Airport happens to be an hour's drive away.
