Mahabaleshwar is a beautiful hill station and a perfect tourist destination for every traveler, situated at a height of 1,372 meters above sea level. Mahabaleshwar is also known as the Queen of all Hill Stations. It is the highest hill station in the Western Ghats of Maharashtra surrounded by the Lake Venna. In Sanskrit, Mahabaleshwar means “God of Great Power”. This hill station was established in 1829 as a recreational getaway. Once Mahabaleshwar was served as the summer capital of Bombay province during the British Raj. Mahabaleshwar has a very interesting legend. While visiting Mahabaleshwar, one can also see a grand view of Krishna Valley which is home to many significant temples. This places is well known for the popular temple known as Mahabaleshwar Temple, temple dedicated to Lord Mahabali namely the old Mahabaleshwar Temple. This temple is also called as Mahabali. Apart from this. there are several other tourist places to see in Mahabaleshwar from where tourist can get a bit knowledge of its rich history.   • Old Mahabaleshwar/ Panchaganga Temple, Mahabaleshwar: It is one of the most tourist attraction places in Old Mahabaleshwar. This place consists of five temples which are the best examples of old Indian architecture. Panchaganga temple is the famous temple that is 4500-year old. It is built at the origin of 7 rivers - Krishna, Koyana, Gayatri, Savitri, Venna, Saraswati and Bhagirathi.
  • Krishnabai Temple, Mahabaleshwar: This temple is another tourist attraction near Panchaganga Temple. Krishnabai temple is supposed to be source of the Krishna river. This temple is old but picturesque that makes it a very photogenic place. Tourist can truly feel the best view has been reserved for the lord.
  • 3 Monkey Point, Mahabaleshwar: The name derives from the natural sculpture of the stones which looks like three monkeys sitting beside each other. Best place for authentic photography. The chilly breeze and blustery climate was an extra to it. The place is appeared to be swarmed more by night.
  • Venna Lake, Mahabaleshwar: It is one of the major tourist attractions of Mahabaleshwar surrounded by trees on all sides. Tourists can enjoy a boat ride over the lake or a horse ride next to the lake. Venna Lake was built in 1842 by Shri Appasaheb Maharaj, the king of Satara. One can indulge in a boat ride on the lake with your loved ones.
  • Needle Hole Point, Mahabaleshwar: Needle Head Point is also known as Elephant’s Head Point as it look like Elephant’s trunk. It is a beautiful scenic place entirely covered with cloud and a must visit tourist destination in Mahabaleshwar. It is named for its natural rock formation with a hole.
  • Wilson Point, Mahabaleshwar: Wilson Point is popularly known as the Sunrise Point. It is the highest point situated at 4710 ft. above the sea level. To enjoy the serenity of the place, one must visit the place.
  • Lingmala Waterfalls, Mahabaleshwar: Lingmala Waterfalls is the most attractive place in Mahabaleshwar. This gives you an amazing view point of the waterfalls.
