Nashik, the city of temples is an ancient city which is one of the most popular destinations for all religious. It is located in the Western Ghats on the banks of the river Godavari. It is also known as Haridwar of South. This destination is associated with one of the Hindu epic ‘Ramayana’ as it is believed to be one of the places where Ram spent time during his exile. Nashik is an upcoming city in Maharashtra where tourist can see the most vibrant culture and entertainment ethos. This beautiful city holds religious important in many aspects. After it came under Peshwas in 1818, got its present name as Nashik. Nashik is considered as ‘Ganga of South’. The history of this city goes back to the prehistoric times and since then Nashik has always been the center of commerce and trade in India. Tourist visiting this place can also visit the Trimbakeshwar temple, which is home to one of the most famous and 12 Jyotirlings of Lord Shiva. Nashik is one of world's holiest Hindu cities where tourist can witness Kumbh Mela for every 12 years at Triambakeshwar temple.

  • Ramkund, Nashik: Ramkund is a holy tank that was built by Chitrarao Khatarkar in1696. It is believed that during the period of exile, Ram and Sita used to take bathe in this kund. It is the sacred bathing ghat on Godavari and the epicentre of the Kumbh Mela in Mahrashtra. Many pilgrims come here to take dip in this holy water.  
  • Pandavleni Caves, Nashik: Pandavleni is also known as Trirashmi Caves. Representing the Hinayana Buddhist caves, there are a group of 24 caves carved between the 3rd century BC and the 2nd century AD. The name is derived from the word "Tiranhu" which is inscribed in the Caves that means "rays of sunlight".
  • Anjaneri, Nashik: Anjaneri is a place believed to be the birthplace of Lord Hanuman. The name of this place has derived from Hanuman's mother Anjani. It is one of the most beautiful and picturesque fort that is situated at a mountain range of Nashik-Trimbakeshwar, located at a distance of 20 km from Nashik. It is also a popular spot for hikers.
  • Kalaram Temple, Nashik: It is an old Hindu shrine dedicated to Rama. There is a black statue of Rama from which the temple got its name. It also houses the statues of goddess Sita (Ram’s wife) and god Lakshmana (Ram’s brother) where one can find the main entrance has a Lord Hanuman deity which is also black in colour.
  • Sita Gumpha, Nashik: Sita Gumpha or Caves is another famous tourist attraction that is situated at the western side door of Kalaram Temple. This caves is dedicated to Sita (wife of Lord Rama). Here, in this place Sita used to worship the Shiv Linga which is still resides in the gumpha. Surrounded by five banana trees, this area is also called as "Panchvati".
  • Jain Mandir, Nashik: Jain Temple or Mandir is another add on tourist attraction in Nashik. It is a religious sphere in the city of Nashik. The architecture is undoubtedly beautiful. It is spiritual place and full of blissful. One can find the 12-ton heavy deity of the 24th of Thirthankara of the Jains. Jainism as well as many other devotees comes here to worship.
