Sakleshpur is a beautiful hill station in the state of Karnataka mostly preferred by different travelers. It is well-known as the “poor man’s ooty”. The name Sakleshpur has been taken from Shakala that is a Sanskrit word which means "Bhinnavada" or "Birukada". It is believed that a Shivlinga was found in the past and the linga was called as Shakaleshwara. Later, the town was also called as Sakaleshapura. At the entrance of the town, a temple was also built that is one of the most famous temples in Sakleshpur. It is said to be over 500 years old. Many devotees come here to visit this temple. It is a popular historical place. This place is surrounded by scenic beauty, fascinating mountains, aromatic coffee plantation that sounds most romantic journey. Pleasant weather of Sakleshpur will make the journey more pleasant and memorable.  This town is located on the western falls under Hassan district of South India. It has several attractions such as - Manjarabad Fort, Kukke Subrahmanya Temple, Moodabidri etc. Sakleshpur offers you fresh air, clear thoughts and a relaxed mind. This place is best known as a trekking spot, The Green Route “Trek on the Railway Track”. Sakleshpur is listed as one of the 18 most diverse spots in the world.

  • Manjarabad Fort, Sakleshpur: It is a star fort and a popular tourist destination that was built by Tipu Sultan in 1792, who was the then ruler of Mysore. This fort was developed by the French architect Sebastian Le Prestre de Vauban. One can have a great view of the Western Ghats that is very soothing to eyes. The place is perfect for photography. During monsoon season, this place is very much worth visit.
  • Sakaleswara Temple, Sakleshpur: It is a must visit place in Sakaleshpur that is nestled between green hillock. It is a religious place and good for pilgrimage tour where one can get peaceful mind. It is built on the bank of River Hemavathi. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is a beautiful representation of the fine detailing and craftsmanship and this made this temple popular tourist destination.
  • Bisle Reserve Forest, Sakleshpur: It is a small village located in the district of Hassan that adjoins Bisle Ghat. The area is covered with forest full of lush green trees and small streams. It is a great adventurous spot where tourist can witness India’s most spectacular rain forests. There are no words to pen down as Mother Nature is always beyond words.
  • Kukke Subrahmanya Temple, Sakleshpur: This is a popular temple that is under the muzarai department of government of Karnataka lies amidst the beauty of the nature the village of Subrahmanya. It is a Hindu temple that is related to the Hindu epics. This temple is on the famous mountain of Kumara Parvatha. Best destination place for hiking trekking from across South India.
  • Agni Gudda, Sakleshpur: The site is also a preferred spot for picnicking, trekking and outdoor camping. The mountain got this name from volcanic activities in this region which means 'Fiery Mountain'. It provides a great view of the surrounding rice terraces. This place has been recorded on various South Indian and Bollywood movies.
