Jamnagar is a city which is also known as the ‘Jewel of Kathiawar’. It was established in the year 1540 A.D. The founder of Jamnagar was the Great Jam Rawal, father of Jam Lakhaji who ruled in Terabanu in Kutch. Jamnagar is a beautiful and historic city of Gujarat renowned for its ‘bandhej work’. The city has become one of the tourist's paradise places where you can explore the rich heritage of Jamnagar by visiting the various ancient temples, monuments, magnificent palaces and others that are famous for its art and architecture. There are also a huge reserve of natural parks and sanctuaries. There are picturesque beaches of Jamnagar with amazing contrast sands of white and yellow. Religion plays a vital role dotting the city life of Jamnagar. 

Main Attractions
  • Bala Hanuman Temple, Jamnagar: It is one of the most renowned temples for every visitors and devotees. It is dedicated to Lord Hanuman the follower of Rama (depicted from the epic Ramayana). The temple has also earned a place in the Guinness Book of World Records.
  • Lakhota Palace and Ranmal Lake, Jamnagar: The Lakhota Palace is a magnificent old structure palace that is situated in the middle of the beautiful Ranmal Lake. It was once belonged to the Maharaja of Nawanagar.  It was constructed as a famine relief work in 1839-45 AD. There is a museum where tourist can find some historical and archeological information that includes artifacts spanning from 9th to 18th century. 
  • Kotha Bastion, Jamnagar: It is another major tourist visiting place in Jamnagar. It is well-known for an old well and also famous for some astonishing collection of copper plates, sculptures, inscriptions and the coins. 
  • Bhidbanjan Temple, Jamnagar: There are many uncommon temples in Jamnagar and Bhidbanjan Temple is one of them. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva (the Hindu God). It was built by the Jams. It is a holy place for devotees and has become the major Tourist Attractions in Jamnagar.
  • Marine National Park, Jamnagar: Marine National Park has its own significance as it is India's first Marine National Park extended over an area of 270 sq. km., from Okha to Jodhya. It was located on the southern shore of the Gulf of Kutch were established in 1980 and 1982 respectively. It is a fascinating underwater world where one can spot octopus, sea turtles, crabs, dolphins, jelly fish, star fish etc. 
 
  • Darbargadh, Jamnagar: Darbargadh is a beautiful palace with unique architecture. It is a mixed blend of European and Rajput architecture. The original residence of Darbargadh is Jam Sahibs.  Tourist can witness some beautiful paintings bearing images of men and women, battlefields, palaces and ashram and so on. 
  • Bardar Sanctuary, Jamnagar: Bardar Sanctuary is approx. 16kms from Jamnagar. There are some collapsed temples and prehistoric town settlements.
