Porbandar is one of the most popular cities in the state of Gujarat popularly known as "WHITE CITY". It is believed that the present city ‘Porbandar’ was named after Goddess ‘Porav’ located along the river banks of Asmavati. It is a city where many myths and histories took place. It is also well-known as the birth place for Mahatma Gandhi, who was known as ‘Father of the Nation’. In the year 1785 AD, Rana Sartanji established Porabandar as a capital city of Gujarat. Porbandar is located between the two most famous city named Dwarka and Somnath. The city is a coastal heritage as well as pilgrimage site for Hindus. The place is popular for Kirti Mandir. Kirti Mandir, Porbandar: Kirti Mandir is one of the main tourist attraction places in Porbandar. It is the birth place of Mahatma Gandhi, the father of our nation. The experience shall stir your soul after visiting this place. Inside the Kirti mandir, there is a small museum and has a Gandhian library and a prayer hall. Sartanji Choro, Porbandar: Sartanji Choro is also known as ‘king’s summer mahal’. This is a 3 storey summer pavilion built by Rana Sartanji.
