Porbandar is one of the most popular cities in the state of Gujarat popularly known as "WHITE CITY". It is believed that the present city ‘Porbandar’ was named after Goddess ‘Porav’ located along the river banks of Asmavati. It is a city where many myths and histories took place. It is also well-known as the birth place for Mahatma Gandhi, who was known as ‘Father of the Nation’. In the year 1785 AD, Rana Sartanji established Porabandar as a capital city of Gujarat. Porbandar is located between the two most famous city named Dwarka and Somnath. The city is a coastal heritage as well as pilgrimage site for Hindus. The place is popular for Kirti Mandir. Beside this there are many other tourist destination places like carved temples, serene beaches, dams, wildlife spots and much more that are incredibly famous amongst world travelers.

  • Kirti Mandir, Porbandar: Kirti Mandir is one of the main tourist attraction places in Porbandar. It is the birth place of Mahatma Gandhi, the father of our nation. The experience shall stir your soul after visiting this place. Inside the Kirti mandir, there is a small museum and has a Gandhian library and a prayer hall. Best time to visit this place is between 02:00p.m to 04:00p.m. It is a must visiting tourist place.
  • Darbargadh Fort, Porbandar: This magnificent fort describes the richness of Indian history and one of the most popular fort in India. Once it used to be an old palace of Rana Sartanji who was the ruler of the place Porbandar. The unique sculpture of the palace, carved pillars and musicians increase the attraction of the façade that allures the interest of many tourists visiting this place.
  • Sartanji Choro, Porbandar: Sartanji Choro is also known as ‘king’s summer mahal’. This is a 3 storey summer pavilion built by Rana Sartanji. The architecture is of Rajput style having a water body around the central portion. There is a beautiful garden lies in the middle that represents different season.  It also comprises images of different musicians, carved foliated arches, and a single dome at its top.
  • Huzoor Palace, Porbandar: Huzoor palace is also spelled as Huzar Palace. It is another best tourist attraction in Porbandar. This palace was built by the last Maharaja of the Princely State of Porbandar name Rana Natwarsinhji and was constructed in the 20th century. This palace is the influence of European architecture with neo-classical colonnades.
  • Porbandar/Chowpatty Beach, Porbandar: Porbandar Beach is one of the picturesque beaches of India located in between the Veraval and Dwarka. It is located near the Huroor Palace that also draws attention of large number of travelers every year. Rejuvenate your mind by visiting the beach. It is clean and tidy beach with less tide.
  • Bharat Mandir Hall, Porbandar: This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva built during the 7th century. Bharat Mandir is situated just opposite to Planetarium, which is also called as Tara Mandir. This temple is also known as Temple of India dedicated to the country ‘Bharat’ that consist the idol of Bharat Mata.
