Pench is one of the most major tourist destination in the state of Madhya Pradesh. It is in Chhindwara districts of Madhya Pradesh. Pench derives its name from the River Pench that flows through the park from north to south. After that in 1992, it was established as a tiger reserve under the umbrella of 'Project Tiger'. As per records, this national park received an elevation in its status as India’s 25th tiger reserve in 1999. Apart from this tourist can explore more than 210 species of birds, including a host of migratory species. This is the land that encouraged Rudyard Kipling to write "The Jungle Book" where Mowgli was the main character.
