Bekal is a small town lies on the West coast of in the Kasaragod district of Kerala state. It is renowned as the land of gods, forts, rivers, hills and beautiful beaches. It is a serene village and a land with a historic past. Bekal is well-known for the Bekal Fort; the golden expanse of a splendid beach surrounding the fort attracts several tourists from all over India. Bekal Fort is one of the best-preserved forts in the state of Kerala. Tourist can experience the breathtaking beauty of the Arabian Sea from the tall observation towers of the historic Bekal Fort. Beside the giant fort, Bekal is also popular for the Bekal Fort Beach. Apart, from these there is a rock garden residing at the parking area where one can spend some quality time with the near and dear ones. The district Kasaragod has been well-known to the world from the time immemorial.  From the few studies done by some researchers regarding the history hails the diversity of this place. This place is an important centre for trade that lured many tourists as well as many travelers from different parts of the world especially the Arabs and Europeans. Best way to explore the bluish beach and the magnificent view of the Bekal Fort is by taking a beautiful walkway with your partner. The beach becomes crowded during evening time to enjoy the sunset.   • Bekal Fort, Bekal: Bekal Fort is one of the largest fort in the state of Kerala. It is situated near beside the Bekal beach which gives a soothing affection to every visitor. The fort was built especially for fulfilling defense requirements. The holes on the outer walls of the fort are specially designed to defend the fort effectively. From the top of the fort one can view the paranomic view of the beach. Inside the fort there is a Hanuman temple named Mukhyaprana Temple and an ancient mosque which are the age-old religious harmony that prevailed in this area.
  • Ananthapuram Lake Temple, Bekal: This is an ancient temple built in 19th century built in the middle of a lake. It is a Hindu temple. The sanctum sanctorum of temple is reachable only by a bridge. The major attraction of the pond is a crocodile that is said to be 150 years old. The devotees pay great respect to this crocodile as it is said that when one crocodile dies, another one appears in the lake.
  • Chandragiri Fort, Bekal: This fort is in the Chandragiri Village situated near the confluence of the Payaswini River and the Arabian Sea. This fort was built by Sivappa Naik of Bedanore during 17th century. It offers a breathtaking view of the convergence of the river and the Arabian Sea. There is an ancient Kizhur State Temple at Chandragiri where the annual festival called Pattu Utsavam is celebrated by the local people.
  • Kappil Beach, Bekal:  Kappil Beach has become a major tourist attraction places in Bekal. Nearby there is the Kodi Cliff offers a panoramic view of the Arabian Sea. It is one of the cleanest and unpolluted beaches of Kerala. There is a temple named the Pallikunnam Temple which adds another attraction towards tourist.
