Kirandul is a small city located in Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh. The city of Kirandul was once part of princely state of Bastar and prospered under King Annama Deva of Kakatiya dynasty. Kirandul is known for its rich iron ore mines, which were found by Japanese Steel Mills back in 1955-66. Kirandul is surrounded by dense forest, hills and waterfall. Some area of interest in Kirandul and around are Danteshwari Temple, dedicated to Goddess Sati, Batissa Temple, which is a Shiva temple, Bailadila Iron Ore, which was discovered in 1955 and is spread over 40 km, Kadampal Tailing Dam and Kirandul Iron Ore Mines.
