Bardhaman is one of the major cities of West Bengal. It is also known as Burdwan. This city is believed to be 5000 years old and was named after the 24th Tirthankara of Jainism, Vardhaman Swami or Lord Mahavira. 108 Shiv Mandir: This temple was built by Rani Bishnukumari (Queen of Bardhaman) in the year 1788. It got its name as there are really 108 small shiv temples constructed side by side.
