Nawada is a district in Bihar which form border with the neighbouring state of Jharkhand. Located in now southern part of Bihar, historically Nawada has been part of Magadh division. The history of the town dates as old as foundations of Magadh Empire. Over the years it was part of various empires which spur out from Bihar or surrounding areas such as Maurya, Gupta and Pala Empire. Nawada also finds its place in various mythologies such as a place called Rajauli which lies in Nawada, it is said that it is the place where Raja Bali donated earth and heaven to avatar of Vishnu, Vamana. Some famous place to visit in Nawada are Rajauli, a small village linked to Raja Bali with beautiful small mountains and greenery, Gunawa which has Jain temple dedicated to Shree Digambar Jain, Kakolat Waterfall and Apsad Vishnu Temple.

Main Attractions
  • Apsad, Nawada: Is located 15 miles from Nawada and is popular for Apsad Vishnu Temple. This amazingly built temple remains open throughout the year where devotees from various parts of the country come to offer prayers. Apsad is gem for the archaeology department as excavation at Apsad brought out wonderful elements of the historical time like antiquities like animal and human figures of terracotta.
  • Gunawa, Nawada: It is a small village situated in the northern side of Bihar, in Nawada District named Gunawa. The place has enormous religious significance for the Jain community as Gunawa has a Jain temple belonging to Shree Digambar Jain Siddha Kshreta Gunawaji. It is situated in the centre of a lake. This temple has got forty temples in the premises. This temple is visited by a lot of tourists for sure and holds great religious beliefs associated with it.
  • Kalkolat Waterfall, Nawada: The waterfall is one of the most ravishing waterfalls in India to be seen. The place has got lush green surroundings making it popular among tourist. It comes from kalkot hills, from the height of 160feeet. The amazing fact of this waterfall is that the water remains cool for the entire year and so you can enjoy your summers truly.
