Chaibasa is a small town located in West Singhbhum district of Jharkhand. The town borders with Orrisa and has Oriya influence to its culture and language. Chaibasa is known for its thick forest and scenic locations in the area. There are many tribes in the region which has maintain their culture from ancient times. Even though Chaibasa is a small city it offers some amazing scenic spots some of them are Archaeological Ruins of Benisagar, Lutheran Jheel, Ruins of Porahat Raj, Roro Dam and Jubilee Lake. Apart from these the town also offers some mounments and buildings which are popular among tourists such as Rungta Garden, Shahid Park, Mahadev Sal Temple, Lupungutu Village, Paudi Devi Temple and Hakumatkam Temple etc.

Main Attractions

Paudi Devi Temple: Paudi Devi Temple is one of the major temple of Chaibasa. This ancient temple gained recognition during Mangarh kingdom. Mangarh was the kingdom of Raja Man Singh who ascended the throne after his father. This temple dedicated to Paudi Devi.
Mahadev Sal Temple: It is one of the oldest temple in the region. Mahadev Sal Temple is in Mahadebsal, which is surrounded by the dense forest. The temple is dedicated to lard Shiva. Many devotees visit here during the month of Shravan (July/August) as per Hindu calendar.
Hakumatkam Temple: Hakumatkam Temple is one of the major religious tourist attraction of Chaibasa. This temple is located at the main Chaibasa-Kiriburu Road on the foothills of Talaburu. Hakumatkam Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva.
Jubilee Lake: Often called Jayanti Sarowar Lake, Jubilee Lake is one of the major tourist attraction of Chaibasa. It is spread over an area of around 40 acres. The major attraction of the lake is boating and beautiful fountains at the nearby park.
Lupungutu Village: Situated at about 2 km from Chaibasa, Lupungutu Village is another most popular tourist attraction of this region. This beautiful village is known for its natural springs and an Ideal picnic spot of this region.
Rungta Garden: It is one of the most popular tourist attraction of Chaibasa. It is one of the most beautiful garden of this region, which attracts several tourists. The major attraction of this garden is Dahila Flower and concrete aero plane.
Shahid Park: It is newly established park by Government of Jharkhand, which is known for its beautiful plants and peaceful surroundings. It is an ideal place for relaxation.
