Jamshedpur is a town located in Jharkhand State. Jamshedpur is located on the Chota Nagpur plateau and is surrounded by Dalma Hills. Jamshedpur is an industrial town and home of Tata Steel one of the biggest steel manufacturing unit in world. In fact, Jamshedpur derives its name from the founder of Tata Steel Jamsetji Tata who also founded the city. Jamshedpur has tropical wet and dry climate hence temperature during summers are very hot however winters are cold, the region also gets heavy rainfall during Monsoon season i.e. June-September. Despite being an industrial town Jamshedpur has quite a few tourist spots some of them being Jubilee Park which is a popular picnic spot, Tata Steel Zoological Park, Bhuvaneshwari Temple and Hudco Lake which is a beautiful lake surrounded by picturesque hills. 

Main Attractions
  • Jubilee Park: It is one of the major tourist attraction of Jamshedpur, located in the middle of the town. It is one of the largest park of the state, which is spread over 237.75 acres. It was gifted by Tata Steel Company to the residents of the town 1956. It is one of the most beautiful park of the state, having lush green landscape, an amusement park and the wide variety of plant species.
  • Dimna Lake: Situated at about 12.6kms from Jamshedpur, on the foothill of Dalma mountain range. Dimna Lake is an artificial lake and one of the most popular tourist attraction of the region. It is an impotent lake, which serves as a reservoir for drinking water in Jamshedpur city. There are various tourist activities are available such as boating, jet skiing and rowing.
  • Tata Steel Zoological Park: Located inside the Jubilee Park, Tata Steel Zoological Park is one of the major attraction of Jamshedpur city. This Zoological Park contains a wide variety of flora and fauna. It is an ideal place for Bird watching as several migratory birds can be seen during the winters.
  • Hudco Lake: Located at the distance of about 10kms from the main city, Hudco Lake is situated in the middle of Telco Colony. It is one of the most popular tourist attraction of the town, which is enclosed by lush green fields and hill ranges.
  • Bhuvaneshwari Temple: Often called as Telco Bhuvaneshwari Temple, it is a holiest shrine of this region, situated on Telco hill top. The temple is dedicated to Maa Bhuvaneshwari devi popularly known as Adhishakti Jagdamba. The shrine was established in 1978, which is situated at Bhuvangiri hills at an elevation of about 360ft above sea level.
  • JRD TATA Sports Complex:  It is one of the most popular and modern sports complex of Jamshedpur. This sports complex includes an international football ground along with eight-lane mono synthetic track. It is having all the modern sports facilities to organize various sports such as hockey, volleyball, table tennis and handball.
  • Russi Modi Centre of Excellence: Located near Jubilee Park, Russi Modi Centre of Excellence is one of the most popular tourist attraction of Jamshedpur. The spectacular architecture of this center gives the glimpse of the dedication of Tata group towards excellence.
  • Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary: Located at the distance of about 13kms from the heart of the town, Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary is another renowned tourist attraction of Jamshedpur. It was established in 1975, situated around the Dalma Hills. It is spread over an area of about 195 sq. km, It is the home to various verities of animal species such as barking deer, leopards and various other animals.
  • Sir Dorabji Tata Park: Located close to renowned Keenan Stadium, Sir Dorabji Tata Park is the one of the major attraction of Jamshedpur. This park houses various flowers, lush green gardens, artificial fountains. It has been named after Shri Dorabji Tata, who was the founder of Tata Iron and Steel Company. The park is renowned for its annual flower show, which held in the month of December.
