Jagatsinghpur is a tourist destination regarded as one of the most religious place in the state of Odisha. It is surrounded by other popular districts of Odisha namely Kendrapara, Cuttack, Puri and Khorda. After the bifurcation of old Cuttack District, Jagatsinghpur was created as district on 1st April 1993 inaugurated by Biju Pattnaik, who was the then Chief Minister of Odisha. It is well-known as the cultural hub of Odisha famous for the Sarala Temple, one of the shakti pitha which is dedicated to goddess Durga and Saraswati. This place is of high historical importance as a centre of Parshuram culture the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu. A lot of great personalities were born in this soil of Jagatsinghpur. Jagatsinghpur is packed with many attractions including Paradeep Port, Paradip, Paradip Garh, Sarala Temple (Jhankad) and others. Jagatsingpur is famous for its natural beauty and ambiance. Temples, beaches and sculptures of historic importance are the major drivers behind tourist influx to Jagatsinghpur. This place has emerged as one of the most development city as well as favoured tourist spot that attracts a lot of tourist from all over India. 

Main Attractions
  • Sarala Pitha (Jhankad), Jagatsinghpur: Sarala Pitha in Jhankad is a famous tourist attraction. It is regarded as one of the most religious place to visit and believed as a synthesis of divine figure of Durga and Saraswati, the culture of Sarala is an amalgamation of three principal Hindu cults namely Vedic, Tantrik and Vaishnavism. It was constructed by the legendary Bhauma Kings in the 8th Century.
  • Gorakhnath Temple, Jagatsinghpur: This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva (creator and destroyer of the universe). It is of among the famous Lord Shiva Shrines in Odisha. On the occasion of Maha Shivaratri, thousands of devotees throng here every year.
  • Gada Kujanga, Jagatsinghpur: Garh Kujanga is also known as Subhadra Kshetra, famous for its presiding deity Kunja Behari. The Raghunath Jew Matha added an extra beauty to the location.
  • Chandapur, Jagatsinghpur: It is a small village in a typical rural atmosphere, the famous temple complex of Lord Raghunath Jew and Lord Chandrasekhar stands around 30 years back. An old temple of Lord Chandrasekhar was destroyed by the effect of time. Now it become an important spot of Jagatsinghpur District.
  • Salajanga Ashram, Jagatsinghpur: Salajanga Ashram is another tourist destination place in Jagatsinghpur. It is a very good spot for picnic and tourist can visit Sarabanta Jagannath Temple and Siali beach. Best time to visit is throughout the year.
