Champhai is one of the perfect tourist destination places in the state of Mizoram, considered to be the oldest and historical place traces back to the British period.  This is the first place where Fenngo Clan, the first Mizo people came here from east during 1500-1800 AD. Champhai is popularly known as the ‘Rice Bowl of Mizoram’, located near the Indo Mynmar border. It is a beautiful town in Champhai district blessed with a pleasant climate throughout the year. Tourist visiting this place can have a fabulous view of the blue hills of Myanmar. Champhai is also called as a simple town in Mizoram. Tourism of Champhai includes famous monuments, ancient relics, wildlife and other tourist attractions. Some of the major tourist attraction places are – RihDil, Kungawrhi Puk, Murlen National Park, Thasiama Seno Neihna and so on.  Beside this it is also an important hub for trade and business. This destination is well-known for imported good. Adventurous tourist seeking for trekking activities can find this place one of the most interesting area zone. It offers a great opportunity for those tourists who are literally interested with tribal education in India. 

Main Attractions
  • Rih Dil, Champhai: It is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Champhai. This shape of this lake is like heart and is believed to be the passage of souls to the eternal abode. To visit this lake tourist should take prior permission from the Deputy Commissioner's Office of Mizoram. The name has been derived from a Mizo folktale of Rih-I, who had a younger sister and she was murdered by their father and Dil means Lake.  It is said that her body was turned into water body and became the lake.  
  • Murlen National Park, Champhai: Murlen National Park in Champhai is another popular tourist destination and is home to many endangered species such as leopards, tigers, Barking Deer, Himalayan Black Bear and others. In 1991, it was established as a National Park surrounded by six caves that is close to the Chin Hills. It is also best place where tourist can witness many migratory birds. It is 23km away from Champhai district.  It is popularly known as the ‘Virgin Forests of Chamdur’.
  • Mura Puk, Champhai: Mura Puk is a historical place for history lovers. The villagers used to hide here from a large eagle known as Mura, which was a cruel man-eater. There are total six caves but no such records or evidence of its existence. But tourist can hear many folk-tales about this place.
