Nawada is a district in Bihar which form border with the neighbouring state of Jharkhand. Located in now southern part of Bihar, historically Nawada has been part of Magadh division. The history of the town dates as old as foundations of Magadh Empire. Over the years it was part of various empires which spur out from Bihar or surrounding areas such as Maurya, Gupta and Pala Empire. Nawada also finds its place in various mythologies such as a place called Rajauli which lies in Nawada, it is said that it is the place where Raja Bali donated earth and heaven to avatar of Vishnu, Vamana.
