With the ‘Backpacking in Egypt’ tour, one gets to revel in the iconic city of first civilization along with a number of fun-filled avocations to indulge in. Explore the ancient temples and then indulge in a few exciting things to do like sleeping on feluccas, cooking demo, river cruise, etc. Egypt is replete with a treasure trove of culture, history and more. Travelers also take an opportunity to interact with the locals while in Egypt. The duration of this trip is 14 nights and 15 days.
Arrive at Cairo International Airport, and transfer to your pre-booked hotel. On arrival check-in to the hotel, we will take a walking tour to get to know the city area better and relax.

After breakfast we will head off for a day excursion to see the pyramids of Giza and the Great Sphinx. Click quite a few pictures of the Sphinx and Pyramids capturing their massiveness. Later in the evening we will get transferred to board an overnight train to Aswan.

On arrival in Aswan, we will get transferred to the hotel. This city will treat you with picturesque views. Enjoy the greenery around and feluccas sailing on river Nile. After check in and hot breakfast, we will explore a bit on foot. Later we will head off to Nubian village. See the colorful houses, simple lifestyle and interact with the locals. We will meet a local family here and learn from them about their culture and traditions. Enjoy the cooking demo and relish traditional lunch. After saying goodbyes to the family, hop on a speed boat to visit Temple of Philae. Soak in the beauty of the island complex. We will return back to the bank of the river and take a camel ride through the sands on the far bank of the Nile to St. Simeon's monastery.

Wake up very early this morning to visit the amazing UNESCO world heritage site of Abu Simbel. We leave with the intent of witnessing sunrise overlooking the temples. Return back to the hotel for a nice bath and breakfast. Thereafter, we will check out and board on a felucca. Enjoy the breathtakingly beautiful scenes on the banks of the river Nile, see the rural lifestyle and enjoy the meals on board. At night we will moor up and sleep on the deck under the stars with mattress, blankets and mosquito nets provided. The local experience of sleeping on feluccas is basic but memorable and adventurous. If you wish not to sleep on a felucca, we can book you a hotel and to & transfers for more comfort on extra payment.

After breakfast, today we will bid goodbyes to the felucca crew and visit Edfu temple enroute Luxor. On arrival, check in and relax. We will visit a beautifully lit smaller Luxor temple in the late evening.
Return back to the hotel for overnight stay in Luxor.
This morning, after breakfast we will visit the architectural beauty- Karnak Temple, the ruins of ancient churches with marvelous paintings and the Abu Haggag Mosque. The place represents the presence of three religions at one site and the harmony among them. Thereafter, we will drive to the west bank of the Nile river. Also known as the ‘Valley of Kings and the Queens’, Luxor has several tombs and memorial temples. We will visit Colossi of Memnon: the two enthroned statues of Amenhotep III, Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahri, valley of the Kings & the queens- which contain several tombs of the royal family and Tomb of the Nobles.

After breakfast, we will drive to the charming Red Sea resort destination, Hurghada. On arrival and check in, unwind and relax in the beauty of greenery and colorful sky. Rest of the day is at leisure.

This whole day is at leisure after breakfast. You can simply relax or explore the options of recreational activities such as scuba diving, snorkeling, windsurfing and kite surfing, glass bottomed submarines, quad biking, camel rides and sea fishing trips. Our local guide can help you in organising the local trips or other arrangements.
Overnight stay in Hurghada.
This morning after breakfast we will drive back to Cairo. Post arrival and check in, we will walk through the huge Bab al-Futuh gateway and wander through streets dedicated to metalwork, spices, pottery, fabric, jewelry and so much more as we gradually enter the touristy Khan-el-Khalili bazaar. Take a break to sip on some mint tea, try a shisha pie and local sweet delicacies as Sweet Goulash (popularly known as Baklava), Kahk, Om Ali, etc.
Return back to the hotel for overnight stay.
This morning after breakfast, we will drive to Alexandria. This city boasts of one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World and has several sites of historical importance scattered throughout the city. After arrival and check in, we will visit the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, Pompey's pillar, Ancient Roman Amphitheatre and Graeco Roman Museum.
Overnight stay in Alexandria.
After breakfast, we will proceed for a day tour visiting Montaza Palace, Royal Jewellery Museum, The Library, The Citadel, Lighthouse, Ras El Tin Palace and Saint Catherine Cathedral. Rest of the day is at leisure.

Today after breakfast, spend your day exploring the beaches and several other noticeable sites on your own.
Overnight stay in Aswan.
This morning after breakfast we will drive back to Cairo. On arrival check-in to the hotel and relax. In the evening we will enjoy the Sound and Light Show on Giza Pyramids of Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure and enjoy the history of ancient Egypt in detail.

Today, after breakfast we will visit the City of the Dead, Saqqarah, Memphis, Synagogue Ben Ezra, Pharaonic Village and Baron Empain Palace. Spend the rest of the time exploring the local market, Khan el-Khalili. You can choose to buy local handicrafts and apparels or souvenirs.
Return back to the hotel for overnight stay.
Trip ends with the check out at predefined time.
