Best of Sweden on a Road Trip

Day 1 Arrive Stockholm (By flight)

Arrive at Stockholm Arlanda Airport, and transfer to your pre-booked hotel. On arrival check-in to the hotel & relax. In the evening we will head out for a walking tour on Drottninggatan street.

Day 2 Stockholm

This morning after breakfast, we will head out to explore the capital city. Visit the Vasa Museum, Skansen Museum and the Market, The Royal Palace and the City Hall. Ride on a boat exploring the waterways within the city and witnessing the colorful and historical architecture of the buildings.

Overnight stay in Stockholm. 

Day 3 Stockholm-Vadstena (04 hours approx.)

After breakfast we will proceed for Vadstena. Pass by picturesque scenes and stop at Trosa to visit Tullgarn Palace. Further south we will visit the open-air museum “Old Linköping”. On arrival in Vadstena, take a deep breath of misty air and explore the surroundings on foot. Later visit Vadstena Castle and check in to relax.

Day 4 Vadstena-Kalmar (04 hours train approx.)

Wake up early this morning to grab your packed breakfast and head towards the train station. We will board a train to reach Kalmar, enjoy a scenic ride witnessing several lakes, waterways, lush green landscape and small towns. After arrival and check in, one of the many glassworks factories. The place is popularly known as ‘the Kingdom of Crystal (Glasriket)’. You may choose to buy hand-blown glass souvenirs.

Day 5 Kalmar-Oland-Kalmar (30 minutes approx.)

This morning after breakfast, we will proceed for a day excursion to Oland Island. Drive through the contemporary bridge and visit Borgholm Castle. Later explore the Solliden Palace and a UNESCO World Heritage Site-Stora Alvaret. Spend the rest of the time exploring on your own to see Eketorp and lighthouse or relax on the beach.

Return back to the hotel for an overnight stay in Kalmar. 

Day 6 Kalmar-Ystad (03 hours approx.)

After breakfast we will drive further south to another coastal city, Ystad. Enroute, witness a World Heritage site city, Karlskrona and later visit to Kiviks Musteri in Skane. Stop for a coffee break in the picturesque town of Simrishamn and visit the fortress of Glimmingehus before we arrive in Ystad.

Day 7 Ystad-Halmstad (2.5 hours approx.)

Wake up to a beautiful morning in this coastal city. If you are an early riser, choose to go for a morning walk on the beach. Enjoy a delicious breakfast with great views and proceed for a further journey. Visit Greyfriars Abbey and drive to Halmstad. When in Helsingborg visit Sofiero Palace & Garden. After arrival, check in and head out to explore long sandy beaches, nature reserves or local markets on your own.

Day 8 Halmstad-Gothenburg (1.5 hours approx.)

This morning after breakfast is free for you to explore the amazing beaches of Halmstad. Later we will get transferred to Gothenburg. Once we arrive in the second largest city of Sweden, check in and step out for a walking tour on Avenyn Street. Rest of the day is at leisure until evening when we will visit Haga. An amazing experience of candle lit cafes and country music awaits you.

Day 9 Gothenburg

A free day for you after breakfast, to explore one of the many experiences this city has to offer. You can choose from visiting the Archipelago of Gothenburg, Museums, Amusement Parks or the local markets.

Day 10 Gothenburg-Stockholm (06 hours approx.)

After breakfast, prepare yourself for a fairly long but scenic drive back to Stockholm. En route, visit Örebro Castle and Gripsholm Castle. On arrival, check in and relax. If you wish you can choose to experience the glamorous nightlife of the city on your own.

Day 11 Stockholm

This morning we bid goodbyes to each other after breakfast. Trip ends with departure transfer to the airport after check out at predefined time.
