About Devi Dol

Devi Dol is a temple that was constructed centuries ago to worship Goddess Durga, was built by the wife of Ahom king Swargadeo Shiva Singha, Queen Madambika in the year 1734 and is situated in Sivasagar district of the Indian state of Assam. Goddess Durga, who is also known as Goddess Shakti is worshipped here in the temple. The height of the temple is 60 feet and the diameter is 120 feet. For Durga Puja and Kali puja a separate place is reserved in the temple. The temple is surrounded by two important temples which are Vishnu Dol and Sivadol.  On the occasion of Durga puja, the monument is crowded by people flocking from every part of the country. Shiva Dol borders Devi Dol from one side and Vishnu Dol from the other side.
